SPOT N STAIN REMOVAL COURSE

AUD$320 inc GST

This is a hands on, one day course with Master Textile Cleaner, Duncan Bennett. The packed program looks beyond the basics of carpet cleaning to a better understanding of both chemistry and technique in removing more difficult soils.   We start off looking at some essential spot removal chemistry to help appreciate what your product labels are telling you. There are practical demonstrations to prove to you that you can do a better job with less chemical and why water is your best friend. We will look at the spotting kit essentials including acid/alkali, reducer/oxidizer and dry solvents.   We will consider how to choose the right chemical from these, for each situation. We will take a forensic look at a real life, broad area spotting case study to determine what went wrong and why and how to rectify it. We will follow step by step procedures to actually remove examples of the five primary types of common stain. These will include mineral grease, blood, red wine, tea /coffee, felt pen marker.   We will consider three effective ways to remove cellulosic browning. You will learn how to remove red cordial stains using a heat transfer process. We will also demonstrate how to apply a cleaning poultice to prevent wick back of difficult materials such as blood. You will take away course notes outlining the steps in these processes and the types of stain that each procedure is effective on. These are the professional skills that will raise you far above your competitors.
